Are you looking to know 2012 class 12th pass out student’s eligibility criteria for IIT-JEE 2013 exams. The 2012 batch pass out students are willing to know about the IIT-JEE 2013 eligibility criteria. With the coming of the MHRD notification 2012, the whole picture changes for the IIT-JEE 2013 eligibility criteria.
What’s new in IIT-JEE 2013 exams notification?
Earlier, it was IIT Kanpur which stands rigid for 2012 class 12th pass out students, that 2012 eligibility criteria remain same but JAB decision on IIT-JEE criteria has changed the whole scenario.
It is disappointing news for the students who were happy with the IIT-Kanpur eligibility criteria. The new notification of MHRD includes the same eligibility criteria for 2012 and 2013 students.
The students who got less marks or percentage in 2012 board examinations will be given chance to improve their marks in 2013 board examinations. As far as the 2011 class 12th pass out students are concerned then I donot think they have a bright future in IIT-JEE 2013.
The MHRD Notification does not cover anything about the 2011 batch students, which means 2011 students are not eligible for the IIT-JEE 2013 exams.
Official IIT-JEE 2013 exams notification
The first question asked by the students are following- Are 2011 students are eligible for IIT-JEE 2013 exams, are 2012 students are eligible for IIT-JEE 2013 exams, what are eligibility criteria of IIT-JEE 2013 exams, on which basis final IIT-JEE result will be made?, what is the weightage of mains and advance exam etc.
There are many more questions like the same but picture will be much more clear if you read the below information on IIT-JEE 2013 exams.
Only the 1.5 lakh students will be selected after the JEE mains exam. The admission to IIT-JEE 2013 will be made on the basis of All India rank in JEE advance exam, subject to the condition that students must be among the top 20 percent successful candidates of class 12th board examinations.
The organization that manages the smooth working of the IIT-JEE mains exam and IIT-JEE advance exam is JEE Apex board( JAB). The JAB will be led by CBSE secretariat and it manages the JEE mains exam.
As far as JEE advance exam is concerned then IIT JAB manages the advance exam.
The class 12th pass out students of batch 2012, who wish to give improvement examination for the 2013 IIT-JEE eligibility criteria can appear in the 2013 board examination.

I have passed XII in 2012 with 66% . I filled improvement exam form with four subject & sent to CBSE board on 3/09/2012 .
kindly advice me whether I am eligible to fight for IIT jEE 2013 or not , provided I succeed to secure more than 78% mark in improvement exam 2013 clubbed with main exam 2012.
RR Yadav,
It is difficult for us to decide whether you are eligible for IIT-JEE 2013 or not? but one thing is sure that 2012 batch marks will be compared with 2013 students marks.
So, try to score as much marks as you can. It will increase the chances of getting admission in IIT-JEE 2013 exam.
I have heard in Hindustan times that all subjects improvement is compulsory and how you filled 4 subjects improvement instead of 5 subjects?
Can I have the following clarifications from your end as there are lot of confusion regarding the same.
1. Can a student appear for improvement examination (CBSE) in partial subjects or he will have to appear in all subjects of class XII to get the improved marks considered for JEE2013 Cut off.
2. With respect to criteria of 20 percentile of each board, I hope a student will be considered in Year 2012 passed out only.
AU,
According to Hindustan times, student will have to appear in all 5 subjects for IIT-JEE 2013 exams.
I havenot got any proof from MHRD Ministry and as far as 2012 marks are concern then it will be compare with 2013 batch students. So, make sure that you are eligible for IIT-JEE 2013 exams.
Hi Chirag, can you please share the Hindustan Times link where it says that a student will have to appear in all 5 subjects for IIT-JEE 2013 exams? Thanks!

Ankur,
Now, You can give improvement in 3 subjects only but make sure that you are eligible for IIT-JEE 2013 exams. Thats what you can do now.
A.P. Board publishes combined overall percentage. then will it be still
12th percentage that matters? Is this 87.2 cutoff percentage is calculated on the basis of combined percentage ??
Student147,
Only top 20 percent students are eligible for the IIT-JEE 2013 exams. The cut-off may vary every year.
if i have passed my 12th class with 68 percentage in 2012 from cbse and don't want to improve with cbse. may i apply for nios board in 2013 to pass 12th class is it applicable in jee mains and jee advanced and if yes than what is the top 20 percentile for nios please reply.
Tarique,
Yes, you can apply with late fee. we cannot predict NIOS top 20 percent right now.
I am a class 12th ISEET / IIT-JEE 2013 aspirant and was looking for a Aptitude subjects course for 2013 Exams and found one at wiziq : http://www.wiziq.com/course/3450-iseet-2013-reasoning-english-coaching, which helps me by reviewing the ISEET / IIT-JEE 2013 preparation course, so that I may join this course.
respected sir,
i have passed 12th in 2012 with 73.6% . i have filled the form for improvement in only 1 subject. sir i want to now whether the notification according to cbse, the improvement exam for all subjects is necessary? From where do i get the information for improvement exam from the reliable source? THere is much confusion about it. Is the HINDUSTAN TIMES news regarding improvement in all subjects for iseet 2013 authentic? I couldn't find any information regarding it from cbse sites.
KK Tewary,
Yes, you are right. I have found the same news on Hindustan Times only but it seems to me that it is student choice to appear in as many subjects as he/she wants.
No notification on CBSE and other reliable source. I have seen some news on reputed website and within few days they reverted back from their news. Wait till same news reflect on CBSE website.
respected sir, I want to know that if improvement in all subjects is compulsory to give the IIT-JEE 2013 exam or not . I filled my improvement exam for 4 subjects only , so what can i do to eligible for IIT-JEE 2013 exam. Thanks!
